Guild Software announced this past weekend the release of Vendetta Online 1.8.351, a maintenance version of their twitch-based and cross-platform 3D space combat science fiction massively multiplayer online role-playing game.
According to the release notes, Vendetta Online 1.8.351 introduces a brand-new, independently configurable skinning system called “Ship Livery,” which has been designed from the offset to allow players to change the looks of their ships using all sorts of skins that will be available soon from the community.
At the moment of writing this article, the Vendetta Online developers managed to implement the new “Ship Livery” skinning system for the Vulture ship, but more ships will be supported in upcoming releases of the game. Players can find the new “Livery” button in the Ship Purchase menu, near the color-picker.
“Ship Livery may have diverse requirements, including faction standing or affiliation, purchase with credits or crystal, or be related to an accomplishment or badge of some sort. Any mission outcome could result in a special Livery, and may eventually be something that can be picked up as Cargo,” reads the announcement.
A handful of bug fixes are present in this release
As with any maintenance release of a piece of software, bug fixes are always present. As such, we can mention that thanks to the Vendetta Online 1.8.351 release, the current scroll position of the ship and commodities lists will be retained when the station interface gets updated, and the orientation of the rotating ship view will no longer be reset when attempting to change ships.
While Vendetta Online 1.8.351 is available for all registered players as a free update, new users can download a trial or purchase the full version of the game from its official website. Vendetta Online is currently supported under the Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, Android, and iOS operating systems.
