Guild Software announced a new update of their popular and cross-platform Vendetta Online 3D space combat massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) for all supported platforms, including Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, and iOS.
According to the release notes posted by the developers on the game’s website, the biggest new features of Vendetta Online 1.8.355 is the ability to use DirectX 11 by default when installing the game for the first time on the Microsoft Windows operating system, and support for Oculus Rift has been disabled. Of course, various bugs that have been reported by users have been fixed as well (see below for details).
“Oculus Rift support has been temporarily disabled, until we can complete our update to the 0.7 beta of the Oculus SDK. Rift support will likely return next week,” said the Guild Software developers. “Those Windows users who want to try the auto-detected DX11 settings can rename their “wgaf.cfg” and “config.ini” in their install directory, and re-run the game. We welcome feedback and bug reports (Bugs forum) on DX11 problems.”
Some bugs were fixed as well in Vendetta Online
Among other changes implemented in Vendetta Online 1.8.355, we can mention that the font size of the list of available liveries has been increased for mobile devices, a crash the occurred when attempting to change various Video options while the multi-threaded rendering feature was enabled was fixed, and the placeholder text of the gamepad help feature was changed from ‘Stuff’ to ‘none.’.
Lastly, the ‘Livery’ button’s keyboard shortcut is now I instead of P. As always, while exiting Vendetta Online users can update to the new 1.8.355 version from within the game for free, new players must acquire a license from the game’s website. Vendetta Online 1.8.355 is available as a free trial for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, Android, and iOS operating systems.
