Guild Software was proud to inform its Vendetta Online customers about the immediate availability of a new important update for the cross-platform 3D space combat massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).
According to the release notes, attached at the end of the article, Vendetta Online 1.8.366 is here to add multiple optimizations to the client CPU, which should improve the overall smoothness of the game across all supported operating systems, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS.
The new client CPU optimizations have been added specifically for slower processors, such as mobile devices and low-end PCs. Moreover, Vendetta Online 1.8.366 adds Warthogs for Strikeforces in all levels of response, slightly improves the combat tactics of the Strikeforce Power Seeker, and makes sure that drain weapons or other add-ons are no longer dropped by Power Seekers on their death.
“The CPU optimization is a pretty big deal on some devices. For slower phones, it may be as much as a 40% framerate increase in some cases. Unfortunately, we’re also seeing some new sporadic bugs crop up in the implementation, which is related to radar dot-coloration (friendly/enemy),” wrote the Guild Software developers.
Vendetta Online 1.9 is on its way
While the developers from Guild Software are working day and night to address all the issues reported by users on a daily basis, they are also concentrating their efforts on adding new features and finalizing the next major release of the game, Vendetta Online 1.9, which should be out sometime in Q1/Q2 2016.
In the meantime, existing players should make sure that they update their installation to version 1.8.366 as soon as possible. New users can download a 30-day trial from the project’s website for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, Android and iOS operating systems.
