As the release of the iPhone 16 approaches, rumors about the device have been circulating widely. However, the latest reports suggest that Apple has even bigger plans for the iPhone 17.
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, as quoted by MySmartPrice, the iPhone 16 series will feature a similar design to the iPhone 15 series, with Apple Intelligence being the main highlight of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
One notable change is the addition of a special button on the iPhone 16 Pro, which is said to be similar to a DSLR camera. This button can take pictures, trigger autofocus, and adjust zoom range.
A New Model for iPhone 17
But what’s even more exciting is that Apple has big plans for the iPhone 17 series, which is expected to debut in September 2025. The company is reportedly working on a new “fourth model” that will replace the Plus variant.
This new model is said to have an even thinner design than the other models, with some rumors suggesting it could be called the iPhone 17 “Air”. This device would sit above the standard iPhone 17 but below the Pro variants.
A Risk Worth Taking?
While Apple has not had much success with its previous attempts at introducing a fourth model in its lineup, such as the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini, which did not perform well. The company then shifted its strategy and introduced the Plus variant on the iPhone 14 series, but it also failed to make an impact.
However, this new approach for the iPhone 17 series might just bring a different outcome. With dimensions being a key focus area, if Apple can deliver a model that is even thinner than the 7.8mm of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, or even as low as 7.5mm, it could be a game-changer.
